Chief Judge Merrick Garland for Justice?

Standing in front of the White House with President Obama, Chief Judge Merrick Garland graciously accepted the President's choice as a nominee for the vacant Justice position at the U.S. Supreme Court.
President Obama lays out his Constitutional duty as the President to move forward and nominates a highly qualified legal mind to take over the vacant position of the Supreme Court recently vacated by the passing of Justice Scalia. Judge Garland graduated at the top tier in his classes at Harvard University undergraduate school as well as in his graduate law school.
Although through the media, the GOP party leaders have vowed to delay the nomination process. They wanted to wait till the next year after the Presidential election but, President Obama, took his initiatives to go ahead with the process anyway. He eloquently argued that he is exercising his lawful duty as President of the United States to proceed with or without the looming election ahead. He concluded his brief speech by affirming that he has done his duty as the President with due diligent in vetting and nominating a highly qualified judge. Now, he wants the Senate to do their duty in accordance to the United States Constitution to exercise their votes to confirm the nominee.
